8.6K Pack Run, A Look Back at 2011 and 2012 Goals!

Today I ran 8.6K with the running group in 1hour and 10mins.  I am pretty happy with this time.  It was really foggy this morning and it was pretty warm for first thing in the morning.  All the snow is gone and we are suppose to get rain for the next couple days.  Yesterday I picked up a pair of Feetures Ultra Light Cushion sock.  They are a combination of wool and bamboo.  I will try them out on my next slushy run.

A Look Back at 2011
I started running in June of last year and am pretty happy with my progress so far!
I ran my first 5K race, The Barking Frog Summer Night 5K in July.  I ran it in 44mins and 43seconds.
I ran my first 1/2 Marathon, The Springbank 1/2 Marathon in September.  I ran it in 3hours and 6mins.
I ran my first 10K race, The Halloween Haunting 10K in October.  I ran it in 1hour and 18mins.
Over all I am pretty happy with all my times, next year I can only improve!

Total KM ran for 2011 = 711.67!  That is just since June!

2012 Goals
My non running goals include:
1. Drink more water!  I need to reach that 8-10 glasses/day minimum!
2. Read at least 12 books this year.  My Kobo has made this goal a lot easier I think!
3. Pay off at least 1 credit card.  We have made a little dent in our debt load but it seems never ending!
4. Eat healthier.  I am a vegetarian, but I am probably the worst vegetarian as I am very picky and love my carbs!
5. Become organized and get rid of the clutter in the house.  I found a link to a clutter calendar from Pinterest that I am going to work off of.

Running goals:
1. Run at least 1,500KM in 2012
2. Run a Disney Race!  When I started this blog I was hoping to run the Princess 1/2 Marathon in February.  Due to finances, this is not going to happen, but I now have my sights set on the Disney Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon in November instead.

5.21K Run

Tonight was a failed run.  I ran 5.21K in 49mins, but the run was suppose to be at least a 7K run.  I had to call my husband to come and get me as my feet were completely soaked and my stomach was bothering me again!  The good thing is I was on my way back when I gave up, so I felt I gave it a good effort.  Too bad London does not care about its pedestrians and does not plow the sidewalks.  That would have made my run a bit better.  Well it is our first real snow fall of the winter and I am already complaining.  It is going to be a long winter I think.  What tricks do you all use to keep you feet dry?

6.8K Run

Today I did 6.8K in 57mins.  I am pretty happy with that.  My Garmin is having difficulty uploading the run, so that will come later.  It started to snow near the end of my run which was nice!
Today I also registered for the Forest City Road Races 1/2 Marathon on April 29 2012!  I have decided not to register for the Around the Bay 30K Road Race in Hamilton, ON in March due to the financial cost.  I would rather save up and do the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon in Disney World in November!

8.21K Pack Run

Yesterday I went for a 8.21K run with the running group.  My time was 1hour and 9mins, which I am pretty happy with.  After the run I bought this ornament.

And joined the group for a hot chocolate at a looking coffee shop.
I headed home to wake up my hubby and we set off for Owen Sound to visit our family for Christmas.  Here are a couple pictures from our decorated house.

And I received this from Santa, aka my hubby!

5K Run #5

Tonight I ran approximately 5K right after work.  Of course my Garmin did not pick up a signal as I started from work.  Grrr.  I should try to get some wrapping done tonight, but we will see.

7.41K Run

Tonight I ran 7.41K in 1hour and 8mins.  I wish it was a little faster, but I was having some stomach problems during my run tonight. :(  I hope everyone is ready for Christmas.  At work we have been visiting clients the last couple days, so that has made my days more exciting.  Tonight I hope to get some cookies decorated to give out to my coworkers.

Cross Train #7

Today I did 2miles on the elliptical.  It was just a short cross training session as I needed to go grocery shopping and still make it home in time to watch Anderson Cooper.  I think I finished Christmas shopping today, but I still have to go out to Walmart yet again tonight as the grocery store did not have the Christmas cookies I wanted to get my associates.

11.43K Run

Today I ran 11.43K in 1hour and 38mins.  I am pretty happy with this time.  It was a nice day for a run.  The bike paths were clear for the most part and I saw a number of runners out.  I got some Christmas shopping done and took Riley (our dog) to see Santa, all before my run!

9.11K Pack Run

Today I ran 9.11K with the Saturday morning pack run.  Not many showed up this morning.  I think the combination of close to Christmas and the fresh snow on the ground kept people away.  I am pretty happy with my time as it is faster then my last 9K run.  I have my work's Christmas party tonight and I am not sure it I am going to brave the mall today or wait until tomorrow...
Last night I finished reading Alice Bliss by Laura Harrington.  Apparently I am on a streak of only reading books with Alice in the title.  It is a very good book and would highly recommend it if you want to have a good cry.
