9K Run

Tonight I ran 9K in 1hour and 29mins.  It wasn't my fastest but my blisters were still bothering me a bit.  I ended up have a bath in ice cold water when I got home as my knees and ankles were a little slow.

Failed Run

Tonight was a scheduled 9K run.  I suited up and went out.  I only got 1/2 way down the block before I had to quit due to the blisters that developed during my 21.5K run on Sunday.  I figured it was better to let my feet rest for one more day rather then risk injury by me favouring my feet while running.  Here is my revised training schedule for this week: 

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: Rest Day
Wednesday: 9K Run
Thursday: 7K Run
Friday: 4K Run
Saturday: 12K Run
Sunday: Rest Day

21.49K Run to Port Stanley

Today i ran my longest run ever!  21.49K to Port Stanley with the running group!  My time was 3hours and 13mins.  Not bad if I do say so myself!  Now that I have done the distance, the Springbank 1/2 Marathon should be a piece of cake.

4.19K Run

This morning I ran 4.19K in 37mins with the running group.  Tomorrow I run 21.5K to Port Stanley.  Hopefully I will make it okay.  At least after tomorrow I will know that I can run the Springbank 1/2 Marathon no problem!

4.3K Run

Tonight I ran 4.3K in 40mins.  This was the rest of my scheduled run from yesterday, which was cut short due to the weather.  Finally tomorrow I get a rest day!  My new shoes are working great!

3.79K Run, Tornado Warning and New New Shoes

Tonight I only ran 3.79K out of my 8K scheduled due to some rain I ran into.  There is a Tornado warning tonight, but I still went out, but decided to turn around when it started to rain.  It of course stopped raining by the time I got home, but there is still a Tornado warning.  I also got new, new shoes!  As per my previous posts I was having discomfort with my Saucony Progrid Omni 9s so I was talking to my running group leader and he said to come in to Runner's Choice to see him.  He had me try on a couple other pair of shoes and determined that I seemed to walk better in a pair of Saucony Progrid Echelon 2.

I was very impressed with the customer service as I did not go in expecting to be able to return my original pair of shoes!

10K Run #2

Tonight I ran 10K in 1hour and 36mins.  1 minute slower then my last 10K run, but I'll take it!  My new shoes are still bothering me a bit so I am going to head to Runner's Choice tomorrow afternoon to see if they have any suggestions.  I just don't want sore feet to effect my 20K run to Port Stanley on Sunday!

I am back on track and completed 4.23miles on the elliptical today!  This week is starting out better both for my training and at work. Here is my training schedule for this week:

11.75K Run

Yesterday I ran 11.75K in 1hour and 53mins with our running group.  I am okay with this time.  Yesterday was a busy day hence why I am posting a day late.  I ended up going to work for a little bit yesterday and they over to my friend Jenn's before off to a Stag and Doe for a friend from work.  I ended up wearing my old shoes yesterday for my run as my feet were still sore from my new shoe (blisters!).  The problem is my old shoes bother my knees so now my knees are sore.  Argh! I don't know what to do.  I may go in to the running store next week and see if they have any suggestions.

5K Run #2

Tonight I ran 5K in 48mins.  Wish it was a little faster but I am still breaking in my new shoes.  I hate breaking in new shoes!  Any secrets?  My time is not showing in my Runtastic as my Garmin took about 10mins to find a satellite and I did not want to wait.  I missed my run yesterday which I am a bit disappointed in myself about but it has been a rough couple weeks at work lately.  Hopefully next week will be better.

10K Run

Today I ran 10K in 1hour and 35mins.  I am pretty happy with that.  I ran it in my new shoes which was probably a mistake at that distance, but I survived.  It has been a tough week at work and because of that I missed cross training again on Monday and missed my run yesterday, so I am playing a bit of catch up now.  Hopefully work will calm down soon.

New Shoes!

Today I bought new running shoes!  My old ones had no support whatsoever and when I showed the guy in the running store he completely agreed that I needed new shoes.  I bought Saucony Progrid Omni 9.

18K Run

Today I ran 18K in 2hours and 56mins with the running group.  Not too bad as this was my longest run yet.  I might have stopped at the Splash Pad at Gibbons Park on the second half of my run.  I noticed my knees and ankles were a bit sore during my run.  Maybe it is time for a new pair of shoes?  When should you by new shoes?  When I got home I have a bath in cold water to help my knees and ankles recoup.  This seemed to help, but my husband thought I was nuts when I ask him to draw me a cold bath.  My distance and and time is not uploaded on Runtastic as my Garmin was having difficulty finding a satellite for the first 10mins.  Also check out the giveaway for Zensah Compression Leg Sleeves at Running Somewhere http://runningtosomewhere.blogspot.com/2011/08/zensah-review-and-100-follower-giveaway.html!

Tonight I ran 3K in 27mins.  1 whole minute faster then last week!  I might have went out of my way to run through a sprinkler... Tomorrow I have an 18k run with the running group.

7K Run # 2

Tonight I ran 7K in 1hour and 8mins.  I am happy with this as it is faster then my last 7K.  I forgot to turn off my Garmin last night so of course the battery was dead.  Good think I had my Blackberry with me and I turned on my Runtastic to track my distance and pace.  Tomorrow will be one month until my first 1/2 marathon!

Tonight I ran 9K in 1hour and 30mins.  Wish it was a little faster, but at least I am keeping it consistent with my last run.  Work is still really busy, so I think I will try to go in early tomorrow morning.

Skipped Cross Train

So today was a horrible day at work and I ended up working 1.5hours late so I skipped my Cross Training for today.  I am sooo disappointed in myself as I have followed my schedule very closely until today.  I am very overwhelmed at work right now and am not sure how I am going to get through this week.  My husband is in New Jersey for most of the week visiting his sister so I will not have him for support.  Here is my training schedule for this week:

16K Run

Today I ran 16K in 2hour and 40mins. I am pretty happy with this as it is my longest run so far.  I went out not caring about pace, I just wanted to do the distance.  It was really humid out today.   This is the route I ran:

On the second half of the run I did stop at any washroom or fountain I could find to splash some water on my face.  I was going to make a detour to a splash pad for a run though but it was not turned on. :(  
Tonight is NKOTBSB at the JLC!

I ran by the JLC on my run today but did not see the boys. :( Just their buses and a few transport trucks full of equipment.
