Week in Review Aug 19th - 26th

Work was super busy this week, so I did not get out for a run until Thursday night.  On Thursday I ran 8K in 1hour and 6mins with the running group.  On Saturday I ran 5.35K in 41mins.
Sunday was the Port Stanley Run!  I ran 21.52K in 2hours and 47mins with the running group.  I am pretty happy with this time as it was really hot!

Steven surprised me with being parked at the 8K mark.  This was good as I needed some more body glide!

21.43K Port Stanley Run

This morning I ran 21.43K to Port Stanley in 2hours and 54mins with the running group.  I was not feeling very strong during my run, therefore it was much slower then I had hoped.  It was pretty warm out which did not help with my speed.  Hopefully it cools down by Sept 9th for the Springbank 1/2 Marathon.

In the water afterwards!
Here is my schedule for next week:
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 8K Run
Wednesday: 6K Run
Thursday: 10K Run with Running Group
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 5K Pack Run
Sunday: 14K Run with Running Group to Port Stanley

5.93K Run

This morning I ran 5.93K in 49mins.  I went out early with the Pack Run as it was suppose to get really hot today.  By the time we finished it was already pretty warm.  Tomorrow is my 21.5K run to Port Stanley.  It is suppose to be hot tomorrow as well...

16.59K Run

Today was our first Port Stanley run of the summer with the running group.  I ran 16.59K in 2hours and 10mins.  This time was pretty fast for me.

Touching the sign to mark the end of the run!
I think too fast as I ended up getting sick on the drive back to London.  I am not sure where I went wrong.  I drank at all the water stops and drank most of my Gatorade at the finish.  Steven thinks that I was dehydrated and then I drank to much too fast.  I also ate more sooner then I typically do.  Any thoughts on what I should do differently?  I have never been physically sick after a run.  Its a good thing Steven listened when I told him to pull over!
Here is my schedule for next week:

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 8K Run
Wednesday: 6K Run
Thursday: 8K Run with Running Group
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 5K Pack Run
Sunday: 12K Run to Port Stanley with Running Group

Pack Run

This morning I ran approximately 5K with the Pack Run.  My Garmin would not pick up a signal so am not for sure how far, likely slightly less then 4K.  I have been spending my day watching the Olympics.  Tomorrow is our run to Port Stanley, so I am looking forward to that.

21.49K Run to Port Stanley

Today i ran my longest run ever!  21.49K to Port Stanley with the running group!  My time was 3hours and 13mins.  Not bad if I do say so myself!  Now that I have done the distance, the Springbank 1/2 Marathon should be a piece of cake.
Here I Come!

You have to touch the no parking sign to finish!
And then in the water I go!
I noticed a couple other bloggers also ran their longest distances this weekend as well.  Amy from Pumpkin to Princess ran a 10 mile trail race and Cupcake from Bigger Girls Can Run Too http://kmaconfessions.blogspot.com/2011/08/10-miles-of-what-hell.html also ran 10 miles this weekend.  Great job girls!

4.19K Run

This morning I ran 4.19K in 37mins with the running group.  Tomorrow I run 21.5K to Port Stanley.  Hopefully I will make it okay.  At least after tomorrow I will know that I can run the Springbank 1/2 Marathon no problem!

10K Run #2

Tonight I ran 10K in 1hour and 36mins.  1 minute slower then my last 10K run, but I'll take it!  My new shoes are still bothering me a bit so I am going to head to Runner's Choice tomorrow afternoon to see if they have any suggestions.  I just don't want sore feet to effect my 20K run to Port Stanley on Sunday!

12.63K Run to Port Stanley

Today I ran 12.63K from a starting point in St. Thomas to Port Stanley in 1hour and 58mins with our running group.
Me at my starting point
Me finishing.  I actually finished at a different spot then everyone else, at it was my first time and I didn't know where I was going, but still did the distance!
I am very happy with this as it was faster then my 12K last week and I didn't feel like death at the end.  When everyone made it across the finish line, everyone ran different distances, we had lunch at GT's.  I tired the new flavours of energy chews I got during this run and they all tasted fine and did not bother my stomach at all.  One mistake, I forgot to put on Body Glide for my run, so I am a little sore right now from chaffing.

4.4K Run

Today I ran 4.4K with the running group in 39mins.  I am happy with this as it is faster then my last 4K run.  I picked up some more energy chews to try, Blueberry Pomegranate and Cranberry Apple GU Chomps and Cran-Razz Clif Shot Bloks.  I will be trying these on tomorrows run and my runs next week.  Tomorrow I am running 12.5K to Port Stanley with the running group.  Hopefully it will go better then my last 12K run.

12.29K Run

Today I ran 12.29K in 2 hours.  It was a hard run.  I had to walk a bit on the last 2K which did not make me very happy.  I might have also visited the splash pad before I ventured up the last hill.  My stomach did not feel well when I got home, but a little Gatorade made it feel better.  I think I will have to look in to getting some Gu Chomps for my next run.  I am getting a little discourage as I am running my longer runs.  I am not sure how I am going to make it through a 1/2 Marathon.  My training schedule is as follows:

Monday: Cross Train
Tuesday: 8K Run
Wednesday: 6K Run
Thursday: Rest Day
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 4K Run with the Running Group
Sunday: 12.5K Run to Port Stanley with the Running Group
