12.31K Run

This morning I ran 12.31K in 1hour and 43mins with the running group.  It was cooler out this morning then it has been which was nice.  There happen to be a 8K race in Gibbons Park when we finished so my last 1.5K was pretty strong as the race participants motivated me to pick up my speed.  This is the route we took:
S-Bike Path Gibbons Park
S-Bike Path Harris Park
W-King St Bridge
W-Bike Path to Children’s Museum
W-Riverview
W-Evergreen
Thru Tunnel
W-Terry Fox Parkway
Turn Around at Springbank Gardens

This is my schedule for next week:

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 6K Run
Wednesday: 5K Run
Thursday: 8K Run with Running Group
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 5K Pack Run
Sunday: 13K Run with Running Group

3.89K Run

Today I ran 3.89K in 31mins with the running group.  It poured rain during the run.  On my way to Gibbons Park it was raining so hard it was difficult to see where I was going.  It stopped while we were waiting for everyone to gather and then the rain started again!
This is the route we ran tonight:
N-Gibbons Park Path
N-The Parkway
N-Sunset
W-University
Turn around at the University Bridge

Tomorrow is the Go the Distance 8K Race.

This is the cooler bag I received in our race packet.  I will definitely use it as a lunch bag.

6.41K Run

Tonight I ran 6.41K in 56mins with the running group.  A little slower then I would have liked, but my legs were not feeling the greatest today.  It was not an ideal day today for my run as a number of things went wrong.  I was at a job fair all afternoon and was not able to fuel adequately during the day.  On my way to Gibbons Park to meet the group, all the roads were closed due to construction.  I then forgot my iPod in my car, so it was a boring run and I forgot to put on my Body Glide.  Then about 1K in a bird attacked me and tried to take my hat.  After my run I found out that a number of people were attacked by the same bird.  The one good thing of my run was that I got to run through a splash pad tonight!
This is the route we took:
S-Bike Path Gibbons
S-Bike Path Harris
W-King St Bridge
W-Bike Path
W-Riverview
W-Evergreen
Turn around at Tunnel

18K Run

Today I ran 18K in 2hours and 56mins with the running group.  Not too bad as this was my longest run yet.  I might have stopped at the Splash Pad at Gibbons Park on the second half of my run.  I noticed my knees and ankles were a bit sore during my run.  Maybe it is time for a new pair of shoes?  When should you by new shoes?  When I got home I have a bath in cold water to help my knees and ankles recoup.  This seemed to help, but my husband thought I was nuts when I ask him to draw me a cold bath.  My distance and and time is not uploaded on Runtastic as my Garmin was having difficulty finding a satellite for the first 10mins.  Also check out the giveaway for Zensah Compression Leg Sleeves at Running Somewhere http://runningtosomewhere.blogspot.com/2011/08/zensah-review-and-100-follower-giveaway.html!
