Week in Review!

On Monday, Canada Day, I went to the gym and worked on my arms.  We went to see fire works at the Forks that night.
On Tuesday I ran 6.54K in 52mins.  On Wednesday I was not feeling the greatest so I decided to skip my run.
On Thursday we completed a different work out then usual with the running group.
This is the famous elastic band run where I put you with a partner ---- you run in opposite directions of a circle and meet half way
Directions
No watches or GPS
...
Run at whatever speed you want, but be consistent with your pace
Once you tag your partner, turn and return along the same route you just took.

The goal is for you and your partner to arrive back at the start at the same time.
Because of the nature of this workout I only ended up running 3.68K in 24mins.  I was worried about completing this workout as I was worried I was going to hold my partner back.  We ended up being the first team back and we were 21seconds apart, which was not bad.
On Friday I ran 5.86K in 46mins.
On Saturday my husband and I went to a Blue Jays Game.
Views from our seats!

I had asked Steven to get seats by third base as I love Brett Lawrie but he is injured right now. :(

CN Tower
It was a nice day for a ball game.  Unfortunately they lost.
Today I ran 12.32K in 1hour and 40mins with the running group.  It was really hot this morning.  I was hoping for rain the whole time, but no luck!
This is my schedule for next week:
Monday: Cross Train
Tuesday: 7K Run
Wednesday: 5K Run
Thursday: 8K Run
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 5K Run
Sunday: 13K Run

Cross Train

I was off work today due to the Canada Day holiday.  I went to the gym for some cross training.  I did 2.44miles on the elliptical.  I also visited my friend who happens to be a hairdresser and got my hair cut and highlighted in her kitchen.  I am currently cooking a Mac and Cheese Casserole. Hopefully it turns out alright!  Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of butter
2 cups of elbow noodles
1 can of evaporated milk
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
3 cups of shredded cheese

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Spray cooking dish with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
Bring pot of water to a boil; add salt and macaroni.
Cook until al dente.
Drain and return to pot.
Add butter and toss until pasta is coated and butter has melted.
Set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, skim milk and egg.
Add garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste; set aside.
Place 1/3 of macaroni in an even layer in the bottom of prepared baking dish; cover evenly with 1/3 cheese.
Repeat with remaining macaroni and cheese mixture.
Pour milk mixture evenly over contents of baking dish.
Bake until top layer is lightly browned, 35-45mins.
Let stand for 10-25mins before serving.

Happy Canada Day!

Today I ran 3.5k in 34mins.  Still wish it was a little faster but I am not used to running in the early afternoon heat!  It was 28 degrees C when I was out running!  Since today is Canada Day, I am off work and thought I would get my run out of the way earlier rather than later.
