7.44K Run

Today I decided to get my run in that is scheduled tomorrow as it is suppose to snow tomorrow night.  I ran 7.44K in 56mins.  I am pretty happy with this time.  The weather was warmer, above freezing and the sidewalks were clear!

13.84K Group Run

Today I ran 13.84K in 1hour and 53mins with the running group.  It was a bit slower then I would have liked but I started off a little late and hit a lot of lights.  Not to mentioned I took a wrong turn and didn't realize until I had to back track a little.  This is the route we took:

8K and 6K Runs

On Thursday I ran 8K in 1hour and 7mins with the running group.  My ankle was bothering me again because I still have not used my new shoes.  I don't want to get them dirty in the slush!

Yesterday I received the Ignite Naturals Reload Energy Gel samples that I won from Running Diva Mom's giveaway!  I will give them a try on my long run tomorrow.  I have not found any gels I like yet, so this should be interesting.


Today I ran 6K in 44mins.  It was really slushy out today and much warmer!
I reserved a Microsoft Surface Pro from Best Buy today as I have been saving for a new laptop for a while now.  The money has been burning a hole in my pocket for a week now and they have been out of stock until this morning!  We will go and pick it up tonight when my hubby is done work!

4.79K Run and Really Chilly 10K Road Race

Yesterday I ran 4.79K in 36mins in preparation for the Really Chilly 10K Road Race today.

I ran the Really Chilly 10K Road Race in 1:10:56.  3 seconds faster then last year.  I wish it was a little faster but over all it was a good race.  The race lived up to it's name today as it was -16 degrees with the wind chill when the race started!  Like last year it was a fast race.  I felt really good during the race and finished strong, passing 3 people in the last 3km.

7.87K Run

Last night I ran 7.87K in 1hour and 7mins with the running group.  It was a rainy, snowy run.  I was slushed by passing cars twice.

I also received these flowers from my lovely hubby.

Today I bought new running shoes.  My ankle has been bothering me a little bit, so I think it is time.  Saucony no longer makes the Echelon 2 so I bought the Echelon 3.

While I was at the store, I also picked up my race packet for Sunday's Really Chilly 10K Road Race!

3.1Mile Treadmill Run and Book Review

Last night I ran 3.1Miles on the treadmill in 39mins at an average speed of 4.7.
Last night I also finished Running on Empty: An Ultramarathoner's Story of Love, Loss, and a Record-Setting Run Across America by Marshall Ulrich.

Over all, I really enjoyed this book.  It was interesting to read all that is involved running such a large distance, including the preparation, injuries and other obstacles encountered along the way.

Have you ever used running to run away from something? Did it help, or hurt, the rest of your life?
I find running helps relieves stress after a long, hard day at work.

Ulrich ran a huge portion of the runs with injuries, which also meant that he were in pain. Do you think that you could overcome pain so that you could achieve something that is much bigger than yourself?
I don't think I would be able to over come that amount of pain.  A little bit, I can work through, but I try to listen to my body to know when I am running too much.

Would you ever run an ultramarathon, why or why not?
Likely not.  I think it is great that people can, but right now 1/2 marathons are my limit.

If you ever attempted a run like Ulrich's, what route would you want to take?
I would try to run across Canada!

An 8K Approximate Run, 7.35K Run and an 11.87K Run

On Thursday night I ran approximately 8K in 1 hour and 15mins with the running group.  I left my Garmin in my bag in the office so I am not entirely sure of the distance or time.
We received 25cm of snow on Friday, so I was unable to make up my missed run from earlier in the week.
Yesterday I ran 7.35K in 1hour.  Today I ran 11.87K in 1hour and 37mins.  I did not run this morning with the running group as it was pretty chilly this morning. We had to pick up a curio cabinet that I had ordered so I decided that I would run home from there as it was close to the 12K I had scheduled.  The cabinet barely fit in our SUV so we had to put the passenger seat down as well.  The guy at the store seemed to confused how I was getting home.  My hubby said it was fine that I was running home.  I don't think he believed us, but I did.  It was slow going but I finished the run!
Oh, I also won some Reload Energy Gels from Running Diva Mom.

10.58K Run

Today I ran 10.58K in 1hour and 28mins.  It was minus 15 degrees this morning so I opted to run on my own this afternoon and not run with the group this morning.  This is my schedule for next week:

3.1Mile Treadmill Run

Today I opted to run on the treadmill as we received a fair amount of snow over night.  I had 8K on my schedule today, but only completed 3.1Miles on the treadmill in 39mins at a speed of 5.  I figured this was better then nothing!

Cross Training, 3.1Mile Treadmill Run and 8.49K Run

Monday night I completed 2miles on the stationary bike.  Wednesday night I ran 3.1Miles on the treadmill in 39mins at a speed of 5.  It was too dark for me to run on my own outside. 
Last night I ran 8.49K in 1hour and 11mins with the running group.  It was pretty chilly with the wind.  This is the route we took:
